What do you need to create an account?

  • Belizean Adult
  • Belizean Minor
  • Permanent Residents of Belize
  • Entity

Identification Document:

  •  Social Security ID/ Passport

    • ID Must be valid, in good condition

    Proof of Address: Any (one) of the following:

  •  Current Utility Bill - Within 3 months (Original or Electronic Copy)

    • e.g. Water Bill, Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill

    • If the bill is not in your name, you must submit a verification of Address form (forms available in office) or submit a letter signed by the bill holder along with the original utility bill and his/her Identification (soc sec or passport or new voters ID)

  • Current Bank statement
  • Current Job Letter Confirming Address
  • Members from Villages - A letter from Village Council
  • Members from Town - A letter from the Town Council (Mayor)
  • Income Tax Return
  • Cane Farmers -A letter from association
  • Members from Mennonite Community- Letter from Community Leader or Agriculture Department confirming address
  • Fishermen - A letter from the Cooperative
  • If self-employed: Original business license, registration, permit, certificate, etc. whichever applies; must be submitted.

    • Identification Document:

  • Social Security ID / Passport

    • ID Must be valid, in good conditions

  • Birth Certificate (Along with Social Security Card or Passport of parent opening the account.)

    • Parents/Legal Guardian’s proof of Address: Any (one) of the following:


  • Current Utility Bill - within 3 months (Original or Electronic Copy)

    • e.g. Water Bill, Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill

    • If the bill is not under the parent’s name, a verification of Address form (forms available in office) or submit a letter signed by the bill holder along with the original utility bill and his/her Identification (soc sec or passport or new voters ID)

  • Current Bank statement
  • Current Job Letter Confirming Address
  • Members from Villages - A letter from Village Council
  • Members from Town - A letter from the Town Council (Mayor)
  • Income Tax Return
  • Cane Farmers -A letter from Association
  • Members from Mennonite Community- Letter from Community Leader or Agriculture Department confirming address
  • Fishermen - A letter from the Cooperative

    • Must submit proof of permanent residency in Belize.


  • If self-employed: Original business license, registration, permit, certificate, etc. whichever applies; must be submitted.
    • An entity account requires a minimum of 2 persons to open an account, except for sole owners which require 1 signature only.

    Identification Document for each Signatory:

  • Social Security ID/ Passport

    • ID Must be valid, in good conditions

    Proof of Address for each Signatory: Any (one) of the following:

  • Current Utility Bill -within 3 months (Original or Electronic Copy)

    • e.g. Water Bill, Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill

    • If the bill is not in your name, you must submit a verification of Address form (forms available in office) or submit a letter signed by the bill holder along with the original utility bill and his/her Identification (soc sec or passport or new voters ID

  • Current Bank statement

  • Members from Villages - A letter from Village Council

    • Additional Documents:

    • Letter of Resolution where it was unanimously greed and approved to open an account at SFXCU to include the following:

  • Legal name of the entity to be used in the account
  • List of names of members/directors/beneficial owners of the entity
  • Title/positions of each member
  • Designation of signatories to the account with specifications of authorized persons

    • Original or certified copy of valid and current Business: (which ever applies)

  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • FIU Registration
  • Trade License

    • Source of Funds- supporting documents for source of funds of company.

    e.g. financial statements if applicable.
